Title: Daft red tape
Post by: grinling on April 17, 2020, 22:25
My daughter has turned 16 so her premium bonds have now reverted to her, any wins have been sent to me.
Problem being she won in April and we wondered where the warrants would be sent. She had sent the form requesting it to go into her bank account. Ring today to be told the warrants have been sent to the last address on her record (moved 9 years ago), but they would send us a form which has to be verrified to our current address, so her address could be updated.

Luckily we rent the old house, so our tennant will send the envelope to us so she can bank them.

I'm not sure why this is either red tape or daft.

They need to be sure that your new address is legit (imagine identity fraud) given that you didn't update them 9 years ago when moving.

NS & I have been sending me the warrant whenever she won for the past 9  years, but they do not change her details until she requests it at 16 and that takes a couple of months.

When we moved we changed the address details of our son's (he was 15) account at the same time as ours. We had to fill in a separate form for him.

We said about it when my son had to do his, which required his signature to be verified, 2 years ago. His win was also sent to the old address. Waiting for a password now so she can have wins paid into her bank account.
