just got my seed potatoes today from wilcos , 2kg of pentland javelin, 2kg of maris peer, 2kg of desiree all upstairs in back bedroom cool and light north east facing . hope all goes ok , hoping to put them in last week in march does that seem ok .

lots of rain   but not floods   allotment is waterlogged though   ,,will need a few weeks of dry weather

And things traditionally warm up a little later up there in Yorkshire, so don't rush with those potatoes --- mid April will be just fine I reckon  ;)

Floods round here, so ours may be even later than that --plot completely submerged  :ohmy:

I usually plant early to mid April here in Bradford and it seems to work out fine.

Sorry to jump in here. My oh manured one of our beds  late last autumn, now he wants to sow the potatoes in it , will it be okay.

Yes, it will be fine as long as the manure wasn't contaminated with herbicide (fairly rare these days).

Though it's a bit early to be planting the seed tubers now - leave it for several weeks until the soil has dried out and warmed up.

Thanks Yorkie. Don't think it's contaminated the stables I got the manure from are very organic.
Potato seeds are  Chitting nicely in the spare room, Planing on sowing them late March, hopefully the ground will be dryer by then.
