I keep finding seedlings all over the place but I'mm guessing that birds are a major factor
I'm in no hurry so plant them out when I see them beech and holly seem to germinate well round our way as well why not go for a mixed hedge? also why not create a hedgerow with old man's beard and sloes ( thinks can make sloe gin) field maple and dog roses. Help the bees and the birds if you do places to nest and a good supply of nectar for honey. The bees will repay you by pollinating fruit and the birds by eating insects.

Have fun with it plant as many things as you can
