Most people pinch out the growing tips at two to three pairs of leaves to encourage side shoots as the main tip some times does not produce many flowers. Good deep soil, plenty of water and pick the flowers often, more you pick the more you get.
I spent years growing sweetpeas in the garden, for my wife only to find out last year she's not to fond of them !!

Personally I've always done it when they got to 2-3 pairs of leaves regardless of where they are. You could try pinching out half now and half on planting, as an experiment, but then those you left till planting would have put a lot of growth on for nothing.
Really funny weather this year everything is going mad, it's too warm. We still have a trailing geranium in the garden with flowers on it in.

Nope, thought about it though, we have two largish window boxes on the front and I'm looking for something different, only thing that worries me would be picking them 12 foot up in the air
Anybody tried this type?
I assume you still have to pick them often.

they look good in the catalogue though
