Title: Charlie saved a life today
Post by: Oliveview on May 30, 2015, 13:27
Charlie,  our Labrador donated blood today.  The vet asked if Charlie could donate blood to a very poorly Yorky. The little dog looked at deaths door when we left the vets, I had a message to say he had eaten a little and his tongue was pink!   Charlie got an extra dish of food when we arrived home.
At least Charlie did not faint like I did when I donated blood!!

What a wonderful thing to have done! I know about blood groups but don't know if they are the same in people as in dogs.

Well done to Charlie, and to his owner too of course, who was thoughtful enough to encourage him to do this  :nowink:

Sadly the little dog took a turn for the worst this afternoon and the family asked that he was put to sleep.  The 9 year old dog had a very enlarged liver.

That's very sad, but you and Charlie did your best to try and save the other dog.  You should be proud of that  :)
