I put a Kiwi plant in the yard in the summer and it's grown pretty well. It's now shed all it's leaf's and I just wondered if it needs pruning or anything?

Iv' tried searching but cant seem to find much out about these plants so wondered if anyone has any experience of them?

I live in an area of NZ that grows bazillions of kiwis - they tend to grow them a bit like grapes - in long rows with wires on either side,  the trees run down the middle and the branches are  heavily pruned so that they hang over the wires in an arch - does that make sense? There is certainly a lot of pruning goes on.
