I've not grown hestia but generally, my dwarf beans have produced well.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Ah, slight mis-read of question  ::) .  I was referring to dwarf beans, not dwarf runners.

My brother grew dwarf runners last year in a tub and had a fair crop for the size of the plants --- not as heavy as taller beans would have of course but kept him going with a meal or two a week and some for the freezer

I've done a display container at work of them just to liven up the veg bench and they were pretty good given the size of them, but as Sunny says, nowhere as prolific as the normal kind.  Can't tell you much about the taste except they can't have been bad because customers munched them as soon as they got to any size

I grow courgettes at the base of my runners, about two feet away.

There are always beans low down later in the season too  :D

I have grown Hestia in the past, but found the beans kept trailing in the dirt as soon as they got to a decent size. Something which dwarf French beans don't seem to do.

They are very good if space is tight, and they do better in pots compared with runners, not so prolific but its a balance.
I was put on this earth to accomplish a certain number of things; right now I am so far behind I will never die.
