Title: Strange fingernails
Post by: AlaninCarlisle on June 21, 2022, 13:44
For the past few years, every so often a couple of my fingernails start to laminate, new ones grow underneath them and eventually the laminated ones can be peeled off. Anyone else have this peculiar affliction?

No and the only person I know that has happened to damaged their nails by wearing acrylic nails and not being very careful with them.  I’m guessing that does not apply to you

Apparently (and I only know because this is what she told me), if it is just your fingernails, it is because of external trauma where you either bash the nail bed or use your nails as tools a bit too much.  If it also affects your toenails, it is an internal cause which is usually remedied with a good vitamin supplement including iron.
