  Just been in my local wilko's ,they are selling flower and vegetable bulbs as

  Buy One Get One Free, on same priced packs of bulbs.

You're lucky. The two Wilkos near me are not selling any veg bulbs as they reckon no one gardens this time of year and besides, its Christmas!

we have loads of onions, red and white, shallots, and flowers.... garlic sold out though

If your store hasn't got them you can order online and they will deliver the order to the store you want for free. Just ordered shallots and red onions didnt see any garlic though.
