I am growing herbs, peppers and chilli's on my windowsill and they have got greenfly all over them. I have used soapy water before which kills them for one day then they are back. Does anyone use the Yellow Sticky cards, if yes do they work?

they work ok, I cut them up and peel one side at a time so you don't have quite such a chance of getting gummed up when youre tidying the windowsill. Still have loads of sciarid flies though, they dont seem to be particularly attracted to the yellow...

One trick I do is to gently shake the plants while holding the card directly over the plant, white fly always seem to take off straight up, and go smack into the card....

we also use them in the kitchen as they look a bit nicer than the brown fly papers (but actually have both this year)- we live in a valley that has lots of cows and a sewage treatment plant, and get plenty of flies!
