Title: 101 things to do with tomatoes
Post by: Shelle on November 19, 2007, 19:01
Does such a thing exist as a cookery book or any kind of book where you can do different things with tomatoes?

Reason I ask is I need a stocking filla, and as my uncle always has a surplus of tomatoes each year I would get him a book of chutneys or something like that.  The chutney books I have found so far tend to be mostly other fruit rather than mostly tomato.

Any ideas???

i know you can get small cookery books that have a magnet on them and you stick them on the fridge; i think somewhere like waterstones would have them?

i got my husband a 'mushroom' one (shaped like a mushroom) so they probably would do a tomato one too

Try searching Amazon or Titan books, I'm fairly sure you'll find what you're looking for though with Amazon you may have to open it to the USA to find what your're looking for.

Thanks for a good starting point.  Hadnt realised you could get books on single ingredients so there are loads!  Thinking about one on Waterstones with a 15% discount, free delivery and money off through quidco.  Canny good for a stocking filla

The Big Red Book of Tomatoes by Lindsey Bareham, published by Penguin, in paperback.

She's also done another great book on potatoes called In Praise of the Potato.

Both great Christmas prezzies for lottie people.
