I have a question...
The closing date is on 31st October, is that the date that the pumpkin should be measured or can they be measured at any time before that date ?  Mine are going great guns , but I am worried they will not stay the course!  Can ?I keep taking photos and just enter the biggest one?

Thanks
June

I'm in, if I can work out how to post a picture. It's the first pumpkin I've ever managed to get past ping pong ball size!

Just to help get my numbers up to fifty so i can claim 1st prize    :D thought i would provide a quick update pic of my pumpkin, the black case is off my blackberry as a size guide.
problem is this plant has 4 pumkins of similar size on the same vine and i cant bring myself to cull the others to make it focus on just one!

What variety is this?

 @simonwatson

Its dills giant atlantic purchased from T&M a couple of years ago. I grew them last year saved the seeds but had a total failure in germination from the saved seeds, then found two seeds in the old packet and both germinated fine !

I've got one Atlantic giant that's just started to take off. Looks like one fruit is set, but it's only tennis ball sized at the moment. Hope mine can give you a run for your money!!

I've got one pumpkin which is slightly larger than a tennis ball all the others dropped off when smaller than this. Does it mean its been pollinated and will keep growing now or is there a fear it might still fall?
All the way from my allotment in beautiful Derbyshire. I'm in year 3 of my allotment and wish I'd caught the bug years ago, things growing from strength to strength

I think that one is up and running by the sounds of it!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
