Title: debris netting
Post by: Ian_A on May 20, 2010, 22:07
Can anyone recommend a good online retailer for this? I am toying with getting some for covering brassicas. Are the holes large enough to let enough light and water in?m

Debris netting is used widely by lotty holders including myself.  Its ample for letting light and water through, so no worries there, and its very hardwearing

Ive found that Ebay offered the best deals two years ago

great thanks. found some 2mx50m or 3mx50m and quite inexpensive compared to other netting i have seen from gardening sites.

My brassica bed, is 7m by 5m so I assume it cuts easily enough so I can overlap it

I ordered 3x50 netting online on Sunday from a scaffolding company, it arrived on Tuesday morning.

I spent a few hours looking for the cheapest, some seemed cheaper than others but their delivery charge was much higher, in the end I paid a total of £44.

I got some 3m x 50 m today for £32.00 from my local shop.  They sell on fleabay but charge 9 quid delivery and as they were only 10 miles down the road I went there to get it in person.

It was a local hire shop that also sold tools and scaffolding. Probably worth phoning a few local places to see if any stock it, it may be cheaper than paying for postage.
