Happy New year everyone.

We recently re-homed our cockerel and all was fine in the hen house. But now every morning our lovely bantie/silkie cross Barbara flies out of the hen house and trys to mount the same female every morning. She does not look like a cockerel, we are just miffed now. Any advice anyone ?

She's just trying to establish herself as top hen. I have an old Vorwark who tries to crow sometimes and has also jumped on other hens, even though I now have 2 bantie boys.  She laid for years, so I wouldn't worry

Thank you I had vsions of having to rehome her, as she would turn out to be a cockerel as well.

By removing the cockerel from the flock you made it a single sex community. Nature hates this and your hen is behaving like a cockerel to compensate for the lack of a real one. She is probably the dominant bird so is establishing herself in the 'male' position.
