 i was given stewart st 500 propagator this morning.
it belonged to chap down the road who  i walk his lurcher.
he found it in his shed still in the box, it's not been used, but the box fell to bits, any tips on using these please??? i did see that the large ones are not cheap... thanks

I think there are 3 types of electric stewart propagators the basic is either on or off the next up has a thermostat between 18 and 23 the top one has variable control [external to main propagator] we have 1 of each 50cm [2 trays] 1 thermostat and 1 variable we find them great to get things started we use them from
january for onions chillies and tomatoes then thru till end of april with most of our veg. hope this is of use

Hello I have a Stewart propagate that's the fixed heat,here's a tip an old nursery man gave me place a layer of compost just covering the bottom of the propagator it spreads the heat more evenly ,any excess moisture runs down dampens the compost so needs less watering    jezza
