Congratulations - they look delicious. I keep looking at my Dunluce. They're starting to flower and I'm getting itchy fingers. Just longing to go furtling, but have to remind myself they only went in on 5 April. They're pretty tall and have already earthed up twice. Seems ages to go till they're supposedly ready to pick. Yours have made me really jealous

I've only ever grown potatos once in my life (results weren't worth the effort!) and very very tempted to give it another go this year... Are those all from one plant 3 allotments? Or if not how many do you think? :D

I have to say that my Swift have been very poor this year. After 10 weeks the Sharpe's Express are giving more than twice the yield and the taste is much better. It's Sharpe's for me from now on, even better than Lady Christl in my opinion.

my swift are pretty poor still seem almost leggy, with no flowers yet (they're in the PT) planted a couple of months ago i was hoping to almost be harvesting now.

in fact i have some left over earlies that went in containers 3 weeks behind and have taken over with strong growth.

So if you planted mid Feb, where were they planted to avoid frost?

mine were planted out mid March and still waiting for them to flower. Lots of foliage, but maybe too much due to so much wet weather. I'll have wait and see.

Hi heygrow I had planted them in my polytunnel with a paraffin heater and covered over with bubblewrap and fleece if it got too cold ;)

I put a load in flower buckets in the greenhouse and I've had to remove them because they were taking over so now outside, saw my first flower yesterday.

I put mine in the greenhouse unheated in February in black buckets and potatoe sacks.  Some have grown really well others not so good.  I think at the start I should have watered them more.  I am wondering if some might be ready. They do not have any flowers yet is this a sign th they are ready.
