Having gone from a allotment to now a smallholding, alongside reading this forum (long time reader - not a lot of posts!!) I am really hoping this section takes off!!
great addition

Thanks!
Since we're hoping to move to a holding in the next month or so, it seemed a good idea :)
I'm hoping it's not just me asking questions though!

We think of farms and smallholdings as being in the country but that's not so, as I've found out since moving house to a town last year. There are quite a few town farms here, tucked away behind the main roads. I found several close to my house as I was looking in the phone book for places to buy straw bales. So, you don't have to be deep in the countryside to find your version of a rural idyll :)

Well this section is certainly going to feed my obsession with a smallholding. Only a few more years in a poky semi I hope!

It's only taken us 35 years! In hindsight I should have gone for it when a smallholding could be picked up for £12,000 :)

Ah, so for the past year I've peeped into these forums, looking on in envy at the allotment chat, waiting and hoping for the day I'd get a plot... and now I get to peep in here in envy, waiting and hoping for the day I get out of London and a few acres!!
:-)
(Don't mind me... I'll be in the background... learning!!)

We thought about France seriously but decided the language was a bit of a block.. so we moved to Welsh Wales D'OH!
Seriously though, you really appreciate summer after winter. My other hobby is banging my head on a brick wall. It's lovely when I stop

Honest. :) Its mild down here most of the time but its rain, rain then more rain. In the summer we just get warmer rain.
