How do you get a 2' cob in the microwave?
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Ok you compost comedians  Two foot is what it says on the packet, although I doubt very much that a novice like me will grow them that big. I will be happy if they survive and produce any size cobs at all. I will worry about how to cook them if and when the time comes.

Hey DD not sure of the variety, got them off e-bay I think, or it may have been T&M 'Giant Mexican sweetcorn' and stupidly I have thrown the empty packet away. Love your pea set up by the way, I have spent ages setting up canes with netting all the way along, but next year I will be doing it the same as yours.

Sounds like these (can't see them on T & M)...

I'm sure they're not just for kids though!

Regarding the peas have to find alternative ways of doing them when growing in quantity, otherwise I'd be destrying the hedgerows!

Others have their own equally good ways. All the materials used can be saved for next year.

Interesting thread - I haven't got as many little plants as I would like (I put mine in the ground a couple of weeks ago and they look to be doing ok!) so I might plant some more seeds this afternoon to see how they get on... I've still got quite a bit of space on my plot...

It has to be a strain of the Jala maize probably, which is a giant, long season corn from Mexico, depending on strain can get to 30 feet.

I'm doubtful how it will perform here, let us know.

Yep DD that's the place I got them from, it was just a case of see what I could do with them for the novelty value. Will let you know how I get on with them and some pics if they grow to a good size.
