Goodbye Doogie
« on: March 11, 2013, 11:20 »
Doogie our beloved dog passed away peacefully this morning.  He suffered a heart attack yesterday and we sat with him all night as he deteriorated, the vet finally decided this morning that there was no hope.  My kids are both absolutely distraught, particularly my 15 year old son as the two of them were inseperable and went everywhere together, the dog even slept at the bottom of his bed.  He is wandering around the house crying his eyes out which I think is probably a good thing as I would be more worried if he wasn't.  Although he wasn't a noisy dog by any means the house seems strangely quite.

Awww Eblana, I am so sorry to hear about Doogie.

They are a much loved part of the family, so I know how you must be feeling right now all of you.

No help right now I know, but you will have so many years of good memories of him.

Sorry to hear about Doogie. It sounds like he's had a long life ful of love. My thoughts are with you and your son who must be having a terrible time getting over the loss. Can't pretend that I know how it feels but I'm certainly not looking forward to experiencing it myself. RIP Doogie!

Oh dear, so soory to hear about poor Doogie. It's understandable that you're all very upset.  You could encourage your son to gather his favourite pictures and put them into one of those frames which a number of slots in, and then he could either hang it in his room, or somewhere central in the house where you see it all the time. It does help with the grieving process. The house will be eerily quiet now and it does take some getting used to.  I kept my dog's collar and lead but I Freecycled his bed and other things as there is always someone grateful for food and such like  :)

So sorry ...... I know exactly how you all feel. It takes time, like any bereavement, but hopefully you will eventually get another faithful friend.
