I'm not surprised. We are bombarded with excessive numbers of adverts on a daily basis. Just listen to Heart radio, at least a quarter of its output is adverts. It is not just the number, they seem to come up with more irritating ones every year, as though it is some sort of competition.

Do you mean the X--- word.  If so I hope it isn't for real ones.  Its a long time to go, and normal the needles go in a couple of weeks anyway.            Mrs Bouqet

I share your pain...
It's the tinsel that lingers here - year's ago I stupidly bought a 'good quality' tree that looks realistic, apart from a liberal sprinkling of tinsel, which inevitably ends up everywhere. I begrudge paying for another one now there's just me, so I'm hoping it runs out of tinsel before I run out of patience with it  ::)

We are usually spared until September, at least!

Even that is too early, and yes, this is not the time for it.

And I'm in the naughty book for mentioning I've started my present knitting! Keeps me quiet while Paul watches his Sci-fi and horror channels.

I'm rather hoping for a second wave as shops will be shut, no chance of buying any presses and as we will be isolated again, we won't have vast numbers round for Christmas dinner. Every cloud and all that . . . 😉

I really hope so as well.

As someone who lives alone, spending Christmas with family and exchanging presents is something I look forward too. The thought of having to spend the festive season imprisoned alone in my house doesn't bear thinking about. I get the impression married people have forgotten what it is like to be single and alone.

We are unfortunately having a second go at the first wave, which is far from over on this side of the pond, and getting worse by leaps and bounds every day!  Unfortunately, Lord Bugs Bunny, I mean, the Orange One, is not helping matters at all.

what do you mean practice. I thought I'd got it down to a fine art . . . 😉   and al 78, I rather enjoy my own company and as Christmas means not a lot to me I'm afraid, I'd be fine with a bacon sandwich, a glass of mead and a good book. Lol

Yes it can be a very lonely time.  My DH 's birthday was Boxing Day.     Busy, jolly families do often overlook us.    Mrs Bouquet
