This title offers easy and practical advice on how to bottle, dry, freeze and even salt home grown fruit and vegetables. Discover the taste of your delicious home-made jams, chutneys and ketchups. John and Val Harrison reveal just what you can do with that bountiful harvest and share their 30 years' experience of growing fruit and vegetables and you'll never waste another tomato or courgette again.

Alluring colour photography and detailed hand-drawn diagrams act as inspirational visual references,

Printed on glossy, easy to wipe clean paper so you can use it where you need it in the kitchen.

Not really competition material but this is our wild/free harvest of today. All again from within a few feet of our back door.

Blackberries, Rosehips, Damsons and a night worth of kindling for the woodburner.

Variety is the Spice of Life!

I normally take a little bit here and a little bit there but harvesting for this picture made me realise what a lot of things we have grown. Not bad for year two me thinks!

Beauty and the Beast.

These were growing right next to each other and are my first parsnips of the year, dug up yesterday. This is one of the things I love about my allotment, you never know what you're going to end up with. I grow organically and I happily take whatever nature gives me.

Ok so this is my go - all grown in the vicarage garden, which don't be fooled, being literally in the middle of a small market town is not very big at all! This bench is where I usually sit to look at my little veg patch (and I laid the wonky cobbles myself):

Heavenly Harvest

A mixture of food and flowers all ferried home by bike! A snap shot of the ones I remembered to photograph before they were gobbled or given away.  ;)
