Budget Pack seeds
« on: February 26, 2009, 13:44 »
Hello,

Got my gardeners world mag the other day (free seeds - woo!) and in it there is a Suttons catalogue.

In it they have a bumper value 'pack' of root veg, I think its 10 varieties for £9.95 and they also have a salad pack aswell.

Has anyone bought anything like this before, I'm new to this, and it sounds a bit too good to be true to get all of those for that price?!

Thanks,

Helen.
I'm a vegetable virgin! All advice offered very welcome!!

Helen

I guess it depends on which varieties of veg you actually get.
Find out what's actually in there then have a trawl round here to see how other people get on with those varieties.
The other thing we do quite a lot at our allotments is talk to neighbours about what grows well in that locale.
For example - I've never grown Maris Bard early spuds in my life but apparently they do well on the soil we have so I'm giving them a go this year.

I saw that too helen, and got the free seeds. Its just a shame Id bought mine already!! I saw the suttonsdealand remember thinking Id got most of those listed for cheaper at Wilkos,so as GA says, try there and the others, they all have very reasonable prices
