Went down this morning and actually caught the squirrel munching on my squash:



So annoyed - it was my prize one! I thought about picking this one and the one next to it last week as they were going 'corky' as mentioned by MOS but I decided to give it another week....

I inspected the other fruits - another 2 had been nibbled on (including an unripe butternut) so I decided I should bring them all in - including a semi-ripe butternut which has annoyed me but I can't risk losing them all.

Found one inside the fruit cage with a strawberry in its mouth, and a hole in the corner of the roof!  Grrr...

I know! Pretty impossible to protect food against them as well as they are so clever! It would need to be Fort Knox!

I am lucky as there are very few round here everyone shoots on sight ! But I doubt that would be a legal option for you
