Can it be self financing or better still profitable ?
« on: October 24, 2009, 15:05 »
Can it be self financing or better still even profitable to keep chickens on between 1 and 2  Acres of land

Either,
A: Hybrids for eggs , and to sell on
B: Dual purpose large fowl breeds (ie Light Sussex) for both egg production and table,  Or to   sell on
C: Specific table birds only

Im seriously taken with the idea of trying to rent an area maybe upto an acre (or two ;) ) if I could find it and keeping a couple of enclosures using electric netting

You'd have to be a good business person. In my humble experience my free range eggs are worth their weight in gold
