You're probably fed up with me asking stupid questions but sorry here's another one, these pots have been munched by, I guess, slugs ... but why are there brown 'veins' running through the middle, is it a 'disease' ?

Could be Hollow Heart which starts with internal browning?

Rapid growth after a period of slow growth can initiate the problems, such as...…….. rain after a period of drought.

Thanks chaps sounds about right, hollow heart is something I know well ... (only kidding) !

We in E Sussex had long periods of drought with short periods of rain this summer and I'm afraid my watering time probably concentrated on the more needy veg.

Certainly not a stupid question , have found similar in some of mine and not sure what it was , clicked on the link for further info.

Have grown spuds in bags as well which have been ok.

I think I have mentioned this before , having this site has answered so many questions . Nobody knows everything.
