DEFRA registration
« on: December 09, 2016, 09:41 »
I have 8 chooks and have never got round to registering. Didn't really feel the need to be honest.
However in view of recent developments I've just had a look at the registration form.  ???
Good heavens!  is it really worth the hassle?

It is only voluntary if you have less than 50 birds, so I never have.  Its mainly so they can email you alerts, but news travels so fast these days and is so accessible, I don't feel the need.

IMO there needs to be a separate form for people who only have a small handful of birds. The present form is unsuitable for those who just keep a few birds as pets.

Edited to correct spelling mistakes.

I dream of a better world where Chickens can cross the road without having their motives questioned.

I'm not sure I understand that view to be honest.  There are lots of us on here who do keep a few birds and all are welcome to participate.

Oh thank goodness! I thought I'd offended you by being flippant about DEFRA!   :)
Totally agree, the form I looked at was very off putting for some one like me.

You can just register for alerts and that is much easier.  See Flowerpower's post here  :)
