All new to this

Hi,
im new to this site and growing anything. However i am keen to start growing just a small selection of herbs, veg and fruit in a poly house, as i dont own an allotment.
I would just like a few tips on how to begin and best times to grow things. I am mainly interested in Chillis, Tomatoes, all herbs and anything else anyone cares to suggest.

Two things; please add your approximate location to your "profile" - it can make a difference to any answers you get even though you're growing in a polytunnel.
