Vitavia Greenhouse Damage, Firewood
« on: November 28, 2022, 19:03 »
Well the storm has passed leaving a load of glass for me to clear up. The wind hit the Vitavia badly. It’s in a very sheltered position but when the wind is coming up the coast it gets rocked. Cutting up firewood for winter and log splitting the push button way.

this is getting beyond a joke John have you explored the possibility of using plastic sheeting that couldn't plastic be more flexible to withstand the strong winds? because you're going to have find something robust enough instead of to keep buying glass every time you get strong winds damaging the greenhouse just a thought

I hadn't realised you'd been hit by another storm. So sorry to hear about the ongoing difficulties you have with greenhouses  :(
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

It's very demoralising. The plan is to strip out the glass, repair the frame and see how it looks before re-glazing. If the frame isn't right then think  again, Maybe it's time to cut back to the smaller Eden greenhouse.

Oh what a blow for you John. Should you decide to invest in a another new one I can heartily recommend the Rhino greenhouse.

They're excellent but not exactly cheap. Oh well, perhaps I'll win the lottery.. if I buy a ticket it would help!

No they’re not, my dad gave me some money before he died & I bought my 8x10 with it. But if you add up the cost of the ones you’ve bought & been damaged it might work out to be cost effective if you can run to it. At least that’s how I’d justify it t myself
