[new chooks]

We've had our lovely hens for 2 weeks now and between them they given us an egg a day, and what lovely eggs they are,   nothing like the supermarket eggs we've had up till now, and all a lovely dark yellow.
Today we gave them a treat and let them onto the veg patch to have a good scratch around, didn't they love it, fighting over the worms and grubs as we turned it over for them. seemed they fell in love with the fork and followed it back to their run when it was bed time.  
Looks like the soft shell prob solved thanks to your advice, added extra oyster shell and we've not had any soft shell now for a few days.  
A question on what kitchen scraps they can have. We know cooked potato peelings and greens go down a treat, but what about leftover rice? and chow mein? did give them a few noodles but I think they thought they were worms :?  Anything they really shouldn't have? :?:

Personally I keep mine away from anything that may be high in carbs etc cooked veg is IMHO ok, but not pasta noodles etc , they love 'em but they could get a little over weight and thats not good for them.

As Rich says not too much carbs and nothing with added salt or sugar !!

Mine love sweet corn, but not to much or that will make them fat
