Turnip storage

Turnip storage

I am getting a superb crop of Purple Top Milan turnips. I would like to keep some of them for use over the autumn and winter but need advice on storage.
Is it OK to store in boxes in damp sand?

I only grow them to eat when they are tiny but there are a few suggestions for storage here

I freeze any for soup and stews in the winter thats as complex as i get  :blush:

the ones I get from the local farmer's market are waxed  and they keep ages in a cool place.
