Hello,I am a new member, this is my first post and fairly new to veg growing.
I do not have an allotment, but I have 2 large veg plots
My back has been playing up,so I thought I would invest in a rotovator,to save me digging.
I have a Wolesley Super Major 5hp briggs & stratton engine.now my silly guestion.
When you store the machine,do you have to jack up the front so the tines are not on the floor, does it matter.??
Dave.

Hi and welcome Dave.:) I'll move your question into the Equipment Shed for the experts to see. :D

Hello, Greetwellboy,
It's not going to make any difference if you do or not. The most important thing is to put it away clean, Don't leave any petrol in the fuel tank (It can go off), and it's always a good idae to leave the engine on a compression stroke (helps to stop damp from getting into the engine, and helps to stop sticking valves)
There's no silly questions, just silly answers. ;)

Thank you for your response, very helpful.
With me  being new to this,I am sure I will be asking for a lot more advice and guidance.
Thanks,Dave.

I hadn't heard the one about leaving it on a compression stroke - thanks Gwiz I'll do that when I put mine away :)

You wouldn't like to see down our allotment site - everyone just leaves their Merry tillers/templars etc out in the open all year round :(

I usually spend a few days each spring de-seizing bit's and bobs for folk. I don't mind, it pays for this and that on the 'lotment. ;)
