I use screw tops as they come....I've heard that some necks on the screw tops are smaller....and the thread part is more prone to breakage.  Why not do a dry run with a bottle of water??

Ive been corking screw top bottles for a couple of years.  I do soak the corks, Ive not had one break on me.  This forum has convinced me to try using the screw top itself, so Ive been collecting them.  I'll still cork 6 or so for deep archive.
One person on here uses 4 pint plastic milk bottles, quite successfully.  But only for a few months.
AuntieMog bough some reusable wine containers that colapse like a wine box, but can be washed and reused.
