Has anyone any good ideas and tips for constructing a brooder ring out of corrugated cardboard in order to make it more solid.

Cardboard doesn't sound ideal to me, from the cleaning point of view. Could you source a bendable plastic? I think this would be much easier to keep clean and hygenic.

I've got a huge amount so I thought that I could replace it every few days.

Well in that case, perhaps you could make some sort of ring out of wire, which would sit outside and support the cardboard ring. There would be two wire rings of course, on the ground and near the top of the cardboard connected by wire strands, rather like a wheel shaped frame.
