the rising of my small tunnel
« on: July 10, 2007, 22:33 »
just thought id start a post about my new tunnel

its on order, a freind of mine got me what i thought was a good deal on one so i went for it, the down side is when he told me the price i was shocked and said i will have two!

so he ordered me two but thats for me to deal with

its 3m X 2m, its not huge i know but it fits in where ive soe a spare hole in an ideal location for it

i have got to clear the area for it and dig up some old roots, when ive got that far i will build up the frame and build a 4" x 1"  wooden frame that sits just inside the framework like a rased bed so as i add compost over time i wont have to dig it out every time.

so watch this space for full photo coverage

3 weeks until its up and being grown in

well today took a unexpected turn,

the ground for the tunnel is cleared and the tunnel frame is built.

tomorow i will (if it stays fine) build the wooden frame on the inside of the supporting legs as a soil retainer and hopefully get it all fixed down!

its getting exiting now i have just about everything here including the compost to dig into the ground, i just have to work out what i want to or should i say what i am going to grow

Good for you enjoy. I also am curious as to how much it cost as I've been looking at various catalogues with a view to buying one. Which site and how easy to erect etc., I haven't seen any cheap enough to make me thin :?:   k of getting two tho'. Jan.
I know less today than I did yesterday, and I knew nothing then!
