Anti pecking sprays ???
« on: July 10, 2010, 12:10 »
What would be the best on the market to use?

So far there are no wounds, just bald areas.

Has anyone had positive results with a certain product?

Is it a pecking problem or are they moulting?
Staffies are softer than you think.

If it is pecking, I didn't like the Johnsons spray, never worked on my girls, but UKADEX did, as did the one from Nettex, which stinks like UKADEX.  The purple spray sometimes works, but it has healing properties as well, and I sometimes use the cheapo vaseline, big pot for £1 in the cheap shops with some tea tree oil mixed in if there is a wound.  Although with this sun I'm not sure if the vaseline would make them burn?

I'm not sure if it is pecking or moulting to be honest, is there a noticeable difference?  I thought if it is pecking I should order some spray just to be on the safe side.

I havent seen any of the birds pecking at each other, if anything it is the one with feather loss that will have a peck at the others over food.

Should I hold off till I get proof that it is hen pecking?

Thanks for the replies  :)

I've had to get some spray, made by Nettex and bought from pets at home.

My question is, after doing my birds, they started to waddle around like they had taken some drugs  and they've gone VERY quiet and back into the coop  :(

Is this what normaly happens?? And should I get them outside into the fresh air, incase it could be vapours after spraying??
