I think I have a broody
« on: September 02, 2008, 09:51 »
Yesterday one of my little brown hennys spent about 4hours on the nest, I took her off  and retrieved the 2 eggs there and she went to eat but as soon as my back was turned she went back to the nest, this happened twice more so in the end I shut off the house till nearly bed time and put a ball in the nest so she couldn't get comfy at night in there.

Went out this morning and she is once again in the nest (this time with my black rock next to her laying) I left them till I saw my black rock come out and my little brown henny had tucked the black rocks eggy under her and was still sat there.

Now yesterday there was only 2 eggs and I have three hens. Today I have only one egg so far but have shut off the house to stop her sitting.

I am guessing she is broody but could she just be taking aggeeesss to lay an egg?
