Pond Liner folds nightmare
« on: March 23, 2011, 14:09 »
I took the advice here that it would be easier to lay a pond with liner rather than a molded plastic one. Not so. What a nightmare trying to get rid of creases and folds. I am edging it with large stones and slate but you can still see it. Trying to make the best of it  :(

Have you filled it with water yet?

The weight of the water will flatten the folds in time and the odds are the water will go green anyway so you won't be able to see anything:)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

One of the best things about being an orang-utan is the fact that you don't lose your good looks as you get older

Yes, filled with water. To be honest it's not looking too bad now as I have been working hard arranging stones.

as one of those who advised on flexible I take some blame, but having put in a moulded liner last week and watched it warp and buckle as the water filled up and weighed the liner into hollows underneath I can say it's not plain sailing!

I've made a virtue of a necessity and where the lowest point of the liner is (caused by a buckle) I've put in a tiny bog garden
