I have loads of little black flies on some of the sweetcorn. Would they be frit flies and what can I do to get rid of them?

They would not be frit flies as they are like house flies. They lay their eggs on the leaves and the maggots eat the central shoot.

You probably have blackfly (black aphids) which you can wash off with ditute washing up liquis or just a strong hose.
