fig tree leaves looking weird
« on: June 14, 2010, 11:31 »
Hello, good morning all,

we moved house in december and our new place has a fig tree in the back garden, which i am very pleased about as i love figs, and always used to filtch them from the tree in the vacant lot down from where we used to live.

But i'm noticing that some of the leaves coming through on this tree have an odd wrinkled look to them which doesn't seem right. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

I did wonder the same thing, but I don't think it can be lack of water since it's been a very wet spring here, and fig trees seem to grow fine here without any watering in general.
Could it maybe be that it's roots have been chopped by the neighbour's rotivating? it's in the very corner of my garden and i've been told their roots spread very wide

i have a fig tree in a pot and sadly it went unwatered whilst i was away last year, all the leaves and figs dropped off, so i dont think its a water problem.

sorry i dont what is causing it though...not much use really, am i ::)

At least that rules out lack of water, so thanks for the reply :D. I still don't know what's wrong with it, but it seems to be forming figs, so it's not all bad.

Have you had a good look on the underside of the leaves.  Aphids make leaves curl just like that
