I'm wanting to grow hawthorn from the tree in my back garden utilising seeds from the tree.  When are the berries ready to pot?  Can I pot seeds now? Thanks.

Sorry I didn't answer last night, Richard

As you say, they are not ready until October. I know it is October now (just) but I would try one out first. If it is still greenish inside they are unripe. Thye need to be yellow and mealy in texture.
