Hi everyone

I知 back in the UK after a couple of years in NZ and I知 trying to find somewhere I can buy purple Maori potatoes in the uk, does anyone have any idea where I can find this variety?

I致e never heard of them sound like they might be a NZ type but you could look out for the specialist potato days that are on in the new year at various places, Garden Organic has one as do lots of other places, they sell the seed potato by the individual tuber usually, can be pricey but gives you the chance to try just a few of a variety

Could you sprout some ready for planting next year? Though I think you'd need cloches or a greenhouse to grow them in the UK.

No they池e not sweet potatoes/kumara I知 afraid. They池e lovely to eat though and I do miss them!

If you mean ordinary potatoes I think the darkest purple you can get in the UK is Purple Majesty

I grew spuds like this from seed spuds supplied by "The Organic Gardening Catalogue" they are called "Purple Majesty". (PNPU 」6:81 in their 2013 catalogue).
