Title: Salad in pots
Post by: Weessy on April 06, 2013, 20:55
Hi

I want to grow some nice lettuce, Tom Thumb, little Gem type stuff, in pots. Can anyone advise on a good growing medium?

You could use compost from a grow bag or there is vegetable compost available now I saw at the GC the other day.

Get a compost bin and make your own. You can mix it with cheap MPC to produce an excellent growing medium for containers. For leafy crops a sprinkle of pelleted chicken manure would give them a nitrogen boost.
