can anyone give me some advice as to how to read a hydrometer it is the first time I've ever used one and I'm not sure how to read how much alcohol is in my wine  I've made grape and apple wine  when do I test it and what am I looking at   thanks any help is much appreciated

It's the difference between the before fermentation and after fermentation divided by 0.00736.
