Could anyone around the lincoln area be on the lookout for some chickens either for sale or oven ready as I have had 3 of mine stolen today whilst was in shower, dog was going mental so rushed but couldn't see anything until I gave them their supper and found three missing. Realistically I would suspect they are Christmas dinner lets hope they choke on them.  >:(

Are you sure it was a human that took them and not one or more foxes?

It's probably human theives.  There's a lot of poultry being stolen for Selling as Christmas dinners just now  >:(

It suprises me that a thief would bother to stop and re-lock the gate if they were carrying hens.
Were they expensive fancy breeds ?

I hardly think anybody would want a hen for Christmas dinner! or perhaps they were table birds. Anyway be on your guard as thieves often return once they know whats available.

They are not locks like we know locks they have to be opened but can just be pushed shot like a gated latch. Think now have identified the thief anyway.

blimey cant believe someone would actually steal hens . Ive had hens donated in the night by someone who obviously didnt want theres but to steal another persons pets is heartless imo

Theres a lot of it about, In the summer we had quite a few posts over on chicken chat pages about people getting their chooks stolen :(

I dont think i'd be too happy about people just dumping their unwanted chickens in with mine, They could be carrying / infected with all sorts  :mellow:
