we bought some indoor cyclamens in pots the other day and I wanted to ask if anyone could tell me how we can keep the cyclamen in pots to flower next year

Can't answer this one because I replant them into the garden. But I would think that is you just leave it in the pot it will come again. My outdoor ones that are in pots just stay there and re-appear. Good luck, Mrs Bouquet

I forgot to say. If the indoor ones droop. put some boiling water in a bowl and then place the pot on some supports on top of the bowl. I use a washing up bowl and a couple of wooden spoons for supports. Mrs B

Hello at the plant nursery I worked at we grew cyclamrn (15.000) the ones that were not sold were fed well for a month seed pods were collected from the stock plants and then the leaves cleaned up and the pots with corns in where put in a draught free place and covered with compost,the seed was sown and new plants started jezza

If you want to keep cyclamen to flower next year they need a period of dormancy during the summer.
When they finish flowering in the spring , and the leaves start to turn yellow ( quite normal ) , put them in a cool and dry sheltered place for the summer . Keep the compost barely moist , lay the pot on it’s side if in a wet spot.
Growth will start again around September, bring indoors and re pot into a loam based compost ( only necessary the first year ) and start watering as new growth increases. :)

Bear in mind though that after that second year they may well have outgrow their pots. My neighbour has some three years old this year, and they are in five inch pots and the foliage is wider than the pots. They look magnificent!
