Title: B&Q Playhouse (aka bunny/guinea pig home or even chicken coop?)
Post by: Willow_Warren on July 02, 2012, 09:09
Hi,

I noticed in B&Q that they had reduced their small playhouse to just under £110.

I have one similar to this and they make excellant budget bunny or guinea pig homes!  They need some converting (mesh door essential for fresh air) and levels can be added for extra interest and a little door to a run.  But it gives so much more for much less than a standard pet shop hutch.  Not tried converting one into a chicken coop, but have thought about it, the felt roof would be the first obsticle!

Hannah :)

Just don't put the felt on but you could layer it with shingles or a tight layer of polytunnel plastic sheet.

Re; the previous comment about felt roof for chooks definatly ditch it. Was at GW live and there was a chook trader outside that had various 'houses' for sale and not a bit of roofing felt in site, otherwise I was ready to ask the mite question. We got rid last year. If you are looking at chooks bear it in mind.
