 over the years i have bought all my seed potatoes from alan romans because his prices and quality and choices were second to none.
i have sadly learned he has joined T&M who are to expensive for me, so could a member give me the name of good seed potato company.

I've bought all of mine from Fothergills this year, cos I wanted to grow small quantities of a few different varieties, but in the past I've used JBA potatoes

Hello and welcome John. I get mine from Garden Organic. They stock a variety which I particularly like and their postage isn't bad.

I use JBA Seed potatoes, who seem to charge average prices, but with good quality.

I tend to buy mine from my local Wyevale. They've got a huge selection, with most of the branded packs sold by the suppliers like T&M but without the postage charges. They also sell loose seeds on an as-many-as-you-can-cram-into-the-bag basis, which can work out pretty cheap if you're good at cramming.

T&M do have a small selection at much lower prices ie £2.99 for 20 tubers, but I suppose if your overall order is relatively small you still pay p&p

I get some from JBA but we also have a local potato day which usually has 100+ varieties, many of which are hard to find elsewhere. If you can find a potato day near to you early next year I would strongly recommend a visit.

As an afterthought it might be worth getting your seed earlier than usual as the poor harvest is likely to mean shortages and smaller than usual tubers.

Another vote for potato days. The one near me also has a seed swap where you can pick up practically anything - for nothing if you take something to swap. Brilliant.

A potato day might not be the ideal solution for the OP. His best bet at one of those will probably be a large event in Glasgow (not particularly local)....

I feel that to be a bit risky.

You never know what you're going to pick up as well as your swap!

I also get mine from my local Wyevale, they have a huge range.

Their seed potatoes appear as soon as they`ve cleared away all the unsold tinsel.
