3 so far, looking cute and healthy.

4th one out of egg, but seems to have pulled itself away to soon and its vent is messy, and was a bit of blood, not as much as it looked, a little blood always goes along way doesn't it. I have put some wound powder on it and left it in the incubator, so fingers crossed for it over night.  Any advice on this one would be great.

The 5th egg, has pipped internally and I can hear it tapping away inside, but no cracks yet.

The first three.

leave poorly one to its own  you can open the 3rd by canding it to see which end its head at and just poking a small hole if needed ,sometmes the egg shell can prevent it coming out and the chick gets to tired to chip its way out. for now id just let them get on with it ,if the last chick isnt out by morning id chip it out regs

I know, I'm having a terrible job getting unmedicated food, my layers pellets are unmedicated so for the moment I have crushed some layers pellets and mixed corn, which should last me a couple of days till I can get some proper unmedicated chick crumb.

Poorly chick is currently fluffing up, its stopped bleeding, and is now sleeping, so fingers crossed.

I've candled the 5th egg, and can see movement and the remains of the air sack, now ragged. I will leave it till morning and see how it is then, but as they were not due till tuesday anyway.

Thanks

I put the in the food processor, started off trying to do it in a morter and pestle, but started to think it might take a long time.

Muntjac,

Just to let you know I left the last egg to rest over night, but sadly this morning I found it had died in its shell.

Oh no, not your fault, my gut instint was to leave it over night to.

The others are all doing well, the last one to hatch has/had slightly splayed legs, but they seem a lot better now.

Untill 10 minutes ago I had them on a couple of inchs of sawdust cover with a tea towel (an old one), I just moved them up to a larger box with just sawdust.

They one with the slightly splayed legs looks the same as the others now, I think it may just have been as he was about 6 -7 hours later than the others.
