A really nice day yesterday

Three generations up the allotment.  

Baby Leo, 7 weeks old, asleep in the pram.  Me, in 4 layers (one thermal) and an anorak, digging hard and not breaking a sweat.  Mum, 66 years old, visiting from Spain and harvesting carrots.

My wife and her mum wisely stayed indoors.

A cold, cold day, but it was so nice to see that plot being dug and weeded, and to get the sense of family that I miss sometimes.  

And the site manager was very impressed with our carrots.

Roll on spring and lots of sowing!

Sounds like a lovely day! I cleared loads of my plot over the winter when my eldest son was a baby - just wheeled him out in the pram and dug for an hour here and there while he slept. It's once they start wanting to help it becomes more complicated! I very nearly missed being locked in the chicken house by my youngest (he was 'helping' me clean it out) this morning - put my foot in the door just in time - that would have been fun!!! :oops:
