Hi from Suffolk
« on: April 15, 2017, 09:49 »
I took on my first allotment plot 5 weeks ago and have not stopped since. It's a beautiful spot (like babies, one's own is always beautiful, I suppose) and, after a few panicky moments, I'm loving it. I gardened in Finland for 15 years where, this time of year, there could still be deep snow cover, so putting salad seeds in the ground in March is a real thrill. But so much to learn! I'll be around a lot.

Hello and welcome!  I agree, it looks much neater than my garden!  Enjoy your plot.

Welcome to the site  :D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Hello and welcome Luiska - you must feel like you've moved to the tropics after Finland. I've a good friend in Norway who loves gardening but is frustrated with the very short growing season.

Too right, John. My fellow plotters are already tired of hearing how wonderful the weather is here, haha. Having said that, I grew up in Sydney with English parents and they never stopped saying how wonderful the weather was there (too hot for my taste, and they have both moved back to Suffolk themselves, so it wasn't that much of a draw).

xx
